MATTHEW A. BRAUER, ESQ.

After working at a prior firm since the early 1990s, including 20 years as a partner prior to that firm’s dissolution, Matt brings 30 years of experience to Schlotterer Law.

Matt’s practice has included personal injuries, employment matters, public housing, civil rights, whistleblower claims, motor vehicle accidents and professional liability. This has involved representation of governmental agencies, employers, landlords, private companies and individuals in a wide variety of civil litigation matters.

Matt’s practice has included all phases of litigation including pretrial discovery, trials, and state and federal appeals, as well as arbitrations and unfair labor practice claims. Outside of litigation, he has consulted with various governmental entities and businesses regarding an array of employment, risk-management and labor-related issues. He has also conducted labor negotiations and collective bargaining.

Matt has been named a Michigan “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine. This recognition, based on peer nomination, is achieved by less than 5 percent of the lawyers in Michigan.

Matt is a past director of the Association of Defense Trial Counsel. He has presented and conducted legal seminars for attorneys, risk managers and insurance professionals in Washington D.C., Michigan, Vermont, Ohio and Connecticut. He is also a hearing panel member for the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board. He was elected the student government vice president in college, and the director of the moot court program in law school.

When not pursuing justice for his clients, Matt and his wife Amy enjoy traveling and spending time with their two adult children.
